Exciting 2024 AVC Volleyball: U18 & U20 Events!

The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) has recently launched its 2024 tentative competition calendar, offering a dynamic array of events for the upcoming year. This calendar includes eight major championships, with a special focus on four underage competitions. These events mark a significant opportunity for young athletes across Asia to showcase their skills and compete at a high level.

One of the notable aspects of this calendar is the inclusion of the 15th Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship, scheduled to take place from June 16 to 23, 2024, in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. This city, located approximately 50km west of Bangkok, has a rich history of hosting major volleyball events, making it a fitting venue for this prestigious championship.

Another key event is the 22nd Asian Women’s U20 Volleyball Championship, set to be hosted by China from July 1 to 8, 2024. The specific host city for this event is yet to be confirmed, but it promises to be a significant tournament in the volleyball calendar.

Additionally, Taipei in Chinese Taipei will host the 22nd Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship between July 20 and 27, 2024. This event is followed closely by the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship in Manama, Bahrain, scheduled from July 28 to August 4. Bahrain’s selection as the host is notable, as it will be their first time organizing the Asian Men’s U18 Championship, despite having hosted the U20 Championship on three previous occasions.

Furthermore, the AVC has partnered with VolleyballWorld, a collaboration between the FIVB and CVC Capital Partners, to drive growth and innovation in volleyball globally. This partnership is overseeing the finalization of host nations for the 2024 Asian Club Championships and AVC Challenge Cup for both men and women.

The four senior events encompass the 2024 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship (April 13-20), the 2024 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship (April 21-28), the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Women (May 25 – June 1), and the 2024 AVC Challenge Cup for Men (June 2-9). These dates are subject to change, and the Philippines, Bahrain, and Australia are among the nations bidding to host these events.

National Federations affiliated with AVC are encouraged to submit their entry forms for the 2024 Asian Underage Championships before the deadline on January 15, 2024. This call for participation underscores the AVC’s commitment to fostering young talent and providing them with platforms to excel in the sport.
