Mohammed Latheef was elected as the President of the Volleyball Association of Maldives during an Extraordinary Congress held on March 26, 2024. This followed the resignation of the previous president on March 1, 2024. Latheef, also the President of the Central Asian Volleyball Association, secured his position by acclamation, as he was the only candidate. His term will last until April 1, 2025, marking his second presidency after serving from 2016 to 2020. The election also filled other key positions within the association unanimously. This election reflects the members’ trust in the new leadership to advance volleyball in the Maldives​​.
