2024 Volleyball Future: SAVA & AVC’s Exciting Plans!

The Southeast Asia Volleyball Association (SAVA) continues to play a pivotal role in the development and promotion of volleyball across the region, as demonstrated by its recent activities and plans for the future.

The annual meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, not only served as a platform to celebrate past achievements and discuss future strategies but also underscored SAVA’s commitment to fostering growth and excellence in volleyball across Southeast Asia.

In 2024, SAVA, alongside the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), has an exciting lineup of competitions and development initiatives aimed at elevating the sport to new heights. The AVC has announced a comprehensive competition calendar that includes a series of underage championships, showcasing the region’s commitment to nurturing young talent.

The calendar features eight championships, with four dedicated to underage competitions, reflecting a concerted effort to provide a competitive platform for emerging athletes.

Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, will host the 15th Asian Women’s U18 Volleyball Championship, marking the start of the AVC’s 2024 events. This city, known for its volleyball legacy, including hosting the FIVB World Grand Prix and other major competitions, will once again become the focal point for Asia’s volleyball community.

Other notable events include the 22nd Asian Women’s U20 Volleyball Championship in China and the 22nd Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship in Chinese Taipei, demonstrating the widespread geographical engagement and support for volleyball in the region.

Moreover, the AVC and VolleyballWorld partnership is set to further enhance the global and regional visibility of volleyball, with ongoing negotiations to finalize the host nations for the prestigious Asian Club Championships and AVC Challenge Cup for both men and women. This collaboration underscores the ambition to drive growth and innovation in volleyball, leveraging partnerships and strategic planning to ensure a bright future for the sport.

In addition to competitive events, SAVA’s focus on development projects, training camps, and courses is integral to its strategy for advancing volleyball. By investing in the educational and technical aspects of the sport, SAVA aims to elevate the standard of play and coaching across Southeast Asia, thereby ensuring sustained growth and competitiveness on the international stage.

These efforts by SAVA and AVC are indicative of a vibrant and dynamic volleyball community in Southeast Asia, committed to excellence, development, and the promotion of the sport. With a calendar packed with events and initiatives aimed at fostering talent and enhancing the volleyball ecosystem, the future of volleyball in the region looks promising.
